Snorkeling with Common Dolphins in the Azores

We took a boat out in the Azores, found a pod of common dolphins, and got in with snorkels.
The ride was short and wet. Once we were in the water the dolphins came in close, curious, turning and gliding around us. They are fast in a way that makes you feel slow even when you are swimming hard. For a while the surface and the boat did not matter much.
I have been in the water with a lot of animals. This one stayed with me because they came in on their own.
